We often say that Amy Adams has been robbed for a win at the Oscars, but I do think that every single time except for Junebug, she lost fairly because there were more deserving performances.
Junebug : To me this is the only time where she was really close to win.
Doubt : I simply think she genuinely lost to Penelope who totally deserved to win here, besides there was Viola with less screen time but more phenomenal than her.
The Fighter : Again this year, Amy wasn’t going to win, a nomination was enough to acknowledge her talent.
The Master : The only reason to explain why she lost was the simple fact that Anne dominated the Awards season in the best supporting category for women.
American Hustle : If Sandra couldn’t win against Cate Blanchett, Amy Adams who wasn’t at her best simply couldn’t.
She won the GG for Big Eyes, but failed to get nominated for the Oscars.
Again she was genuinely snubbed for Arrival.
Not every actor who has been nominated more that 4 time is necessarily OVERDUE, Glenn for example gave a performance that is still iconic and relevant in Pop Culture after more than 25 years old, that’s why she is overdue, on the other hand, we have an Amy Adams who is called overdue for decent if not just above average performances.
